Diversity, Equality and Inclusion

by The Chicago Bar Association

The Chicago Bar Association (CBA) is committed to fostering a legal community that reflects the rich diversity of the Chicago metropolitan area. Through its Diversity, Inclusion, Culture, Equity, and Engagement (D.I.C.E.) Committee, the CBA designs and implements activities and events aimed at promoting inclusivity and equity among its members.

The D.I.C.E. Committee focuses on creating an atmosphere where every member feels valued and has equal opportunities within the association. It leads initiatives that encourage understanding and respect for various human characteristics, including race, gender, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, age, physical attributes, disabilities, religious beliefs, and political views.

In addition to the D.I.C.E. Committee, the CBA supports several other diversity-related committees, such as the Alliance for Women, LGBTQA+ Committee, and Human Rights Committee. These groups organize programs and events that celebrate the achievements of women and diverse attorneys, including the Alliance for Women Annual Awards and the Earl B. Dickerson Awards.

Legal professionals seeking to enhance their understanding of diversity and inclusion within the legal field will find these initiatives beneficial. Participation offers opportunities for networking, professional development, and contributing to a more inclusive legal community.
