SCMA Distinguished Speaker Series 2016
The SCMA Distinguished Speaker Series is an annual program organized by the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA), featuring international experts in shipping and maritime arbitration. The 2016 edition welcomed Søren Larsen, Deputy Secretary General of BIMCO, as the distinguished speaker.
Mr. Larsen's address, titled "BIMCO and Maritime Arbitration in the Asia Pacific," explored BIMCO's history, its role in developing standard maritime contracts, and the significance of including the SCMA arbitration clause in BIMCO's Standard Dispute Resolution Clause. The event also featured a panel discussion with industry leaders, providing insights into the future of maritime arbitration in the region.
