Annual Corporate Counsel Gathering 2018

The Annual Corporate Counsel Gathering, held on December 12, 2018, at the Le Concorde Hotel in Tunis, was organized by the Middle East chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), represented in Tunisia by Wafa Derouiche, in collaboration with the law firm Eversheds Sutherland El Heni. This marked the first time the conference was held in this format in Tunisia, bringing together numerous corporate lawyers from both the public and private sectors.

The conference featured a series of presentations on various topics pertinent to the role of in-house counsel. The first presentation, titled "Overview of the In-House Counsel Profession in Tunisia and Future Perspectives," was delivered by Maha Driss, Director of Legal Affairs and Compliance at Coficab Group. This was followed by a session on compliance, "Ethics and Compliance: We Are All Concerned," presented by Wafa Derouiche, Director of Legal Compliance for the Europe, Middle East, India, and Africa region at TE Connectivity. The third presentation, "Arbitration: From Agreement to Enforcement – Practical Tools," was conducted by Wesley Pydiamah, Partner at Eversheds Sutherland Paris, and Fares Koussay El Heni, Managing Partner at Eversheds Sutherland El Heni.

The event concluded with a panel discussion featuring all the speakers, along with Sana Belaid, Senior Counsel at Cisco and member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, moderated by Amine Babacheikh, Legal Director at Alessandro Group. This gathering provided a valuable platform for in-house counsel to exchange ideas, share best practices, and discuss common interests, highlighting the growing importance of such forums in Tunisia.
