Second Annual WiE Legal Technology Showcase and Conference

The Second Annual WiE Legal Technology Showcase and Conference, organized by the Houston Chapter of Women in eDiscovery (WiE) in partnership with South Texas College of Law and the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS), took place on September 27, 2018, at South Texas College of Law in Houston. This event brought together legal professionals, technologists, and industry experts to explore advancements in legal technology and eDiscovery practices.

The conference featured a keynote address titled "The Future Practice of Law: AI, Blockchain and Quantum Computing" by Shawnna Hoffman, Global Co-Leader of the IBM Cognitive Legal Practice. Sessions covered topics such as eDiscovery fundamentals, discovery project management, and the application of AI and Technology-Assisted Review (TAR) in legal contexts. Panel discussions included insights from professionals across various sectors, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of current trends and best practices in legal technology.

In addition to educational sessions, the event offered ample networking opportunities, including a happy hour following the conference. With a reported attendance of 239 participants, the conference facilitated connections among peers and industry leaders, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing within the legal technology community.
