CIBEL Global Network Conference

by China International Business and Economic Law (CIBEL) Centre

The CIBEL Global Network Conference is an annual event organized by the China International Business and Economic Law (CIBEL) Centre at UNSW Sydney. Established in 2015, the CIBEL Centre is the world's largest research and teaching hub outside China focusing on international business and economic law, particularly concerning China's impact domestically, in the Asia-Pacific, and globally. The conference aims to connect scholars, practitioners, regulators, and the public to discuss pressing issues in the field.

The 2025 conference, themed "Australia in a Changing Global Economic Order," will address the evolving global economic landscape influenced by post-COVID realities, the diminished role of the World Trade Organization, and the rise of industrial policies emphasizing foreign investment. Key topics include the growth of artificial intelligence, international trade law, international investment law, and competition law, focusing on challenges faced by governments and the global economy.

The one-and-a-half-day event will feature panel discussions, keynote speeches, and networking opportunities, bringing together researchers, policymakers, and business leaders to explore policy and regulatory responses to current global economic challenges. Attendees can expect in-depth analyses and collaborative discussions aimed at stabilizing and modernizing the global economic order for long-term security and prosperity.

This conference is ideal for legal professionals, academics, policymakers, and business leaders interested in international economic law and its implications for Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Participants will gain valuable insights into current trends, challenges, and opportunities in the global economic landscape, as well as the chance to engage with leading experts in the field.
