The Sedona Conference Working Group 1 Annual Meeting 2019

by The Sedona Conference

The Sedona Conference Working Group 1 (WG1) Annual Meeting 2019 is a premier event focused on electronic document retention and production, organized by The Sedona Conference, a nonpartisan, nonprofit research and educational institute dedicated to advancing law and policy. This annual gathering brings together legal professionals, judges, and industry experts to discuss and develop best practices in eDiscovery and information governance.

The 2019 agenda includes sessions on hot-button issues in negotiating ESI protocols, effective use of orders under Federal Rule of Evidence 502(d), and managing eDiscovery in small cases. Other topics cover ephemeral messaging, privilege logs, and case law reviews on cooperation, proportionality, and sanctions for spoliation and discovery misconduct. A notable session titled "The Verdict on Change" features judges sharing their observations on the effectiveness of the 2015 amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

Attendees have opportunities to engage in in-depth dialogues with leading experts and peers, enhancing their understanding of current challenges and solutions in eDiscovery. The event also includes a welcome reception and networking sessions, fostering professional connections and collaborations.

Legal practitioners, in-house counsel, and eDiscovery professionals should attend to stay abreast of evolving practices, gain insights from judicial perspectives, and contribute to the development of consensus-based solutions in electronic document management.
