The Women, Influence & Power in Law (WIPL) Conference is an annual event designed to foster exchange among women in-house and outside counsel. Organized with the assistance of an advisory board comprising high-ranking women attorneys from around the globe, the conference brings together professionals with extensive expertise in leading legal departments and practice areas.
The 2019 WIPL Conference featured five educational tracks covering topics such as transactions, legal operations, and technology. Notable sessions included "Winning a Seat on the Board," "360-degree View on How to Navigate a Crisis," and "Data Breach Investigation: What You Need to Know and How to Protect Yourself." Additionally, interactive technology workshops were introduced to provide hands-on learning experiences.
The conference offered numerous networking opportunities, including the Annual WIPL Networking Luncheon and roundtable-focused networking sessions. Prominent speakers at the event included former U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Alison Levine, team captain of the first American Women's Everest Expedition and New York Times bestselling author.
WIPL is tailored for corporate counsel, associate general counsel, chief legal officers, corporate compliance officers, senior counsel, and general counsel.
