Sustainability Conference & BSI Recognition Ceremony 2021
The Sustainability Conference & BSI Recognition Ceremony 2021, organized by the Centre for Business Sustainability (CBS) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), took place on June 24 and 25, 2021. This event aimed to explore the latest trends in consumer awareness and behavior towards sustainable consumption, as well as to recognize outstanding corporate social responsibility (CSR) performers across various regions.
The conference featured sessions on sustainable consumption, where speakers from the Consumer Council, academia, business community, and NGOs presented research findings and strategies for promoting responsible business practices. Additionally, a workshop on effective CSR communication was held, providing participants with insights into engaging stakeholders and driving sustainability initiatives.
Notable speakers included The Honourable Bernard Charnwut Chan, GBM, GBS, JP, Executive Council Member; Prof. Nora Tam, BBS, JP, Chairperson of the Working Group on Sustainable Consumption Programme, Consumer Council; and Mr. Christopher Hui Ching-yu, JP, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury. The event also offered networking opportunities and recognized top CSR performers from SMEs to listed companies in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.
This event was particularly beneficial for business leaders, CSR professionals, academics, and policymakers interested in advancing sustainability practices and effective communication strategies within their organizations and communities.
