2022 Inaugural Law & Technology Summit

The 2022 Inaugural Law & Technology Summit, organized by the North Carolina Central University (NCCU) School of Law's Technology Law and Policy Center, was held on October 14-15, 2022. This hybrid event convened legal experts, policy advocates, technologists, and scholars to explore the evolving intersection of law and technology.
The summit featured 17 panels and three keynote addresses on the first day, covering topics such as artificial intelligence, data privacy, cybersecurity, tech policy, legal services, and regulatory reform. The second day included six Continuing Legal Education (CLE) presentations and a lunch-hour panel discussion, providing attendees with practical insights into current developments in law and technology.
Notable speakers included Eva Almirantearena, Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Intel Corporation, and Dr. Siobhan Grady, Assistant Professor of Information Science at NCCU. Their contributions, along with those of other distinguished panelists, offered valuable perspectives on the challenges and opportunities at the nexus of law and technology.
The summit provided ample networking opportunities, allowing participants to engage with peers, industry leaders, and academics. Attendees included legal practitioners, policymakers, technologists, and students interested in the dynamic field of law and technology.

Dr. Tiffany Gibson is a Family and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with 23 years of nursing experience. She earned her Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, focusing on Black women’s experiences with telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vice President, Associate General Counsel at Intel Corporation
Eva Almirantearena is Vice President, Associate General Counsel, Antitrust and Commercial Litigation at Intel Corporation. She has been with Intel since 2004, handling antitrust litigation and investigations, commercial litigation, and trade secret matters. She also leads Intel Legal’s Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.
