The Small Law Firm Symposium is an annual event organized by the New York City Bar Association's Small Law Firm Committee, in collaboration with the Small Law Firm Center. This symposium is designed to support solo practitioners and small law firm attorneys by providing them with resources, education, and networking opportunities to enhance their practices.
The 2022 symposium featured a range of sessions addressing critical topics for small law firms. Key sessions included "Practicing with the Machines," which explored the integration of artificial intelligence and automation tools into legal practices, and "Managing Your Firm’s Professional and Cyber Risks in a Hybrid World," focusing on risk management in evolving work environments. Other sessions covered online marketing strategies, diversity and inclusion principles, networking for client leads, and improving cash flow through compliant online payment and accounting practices.
In addition to educational sessions, the symposium offered practical opportunities such as a networking breakfast, an exhibit hall showcasing relevant products and services, and a wine and hors d'oeuvres reception. Attendees had the chance to earn up to 4.0 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits, including sessions on law practice management and ethics.
This event is ideal for solo practitioners and attorneys from small law firms seeking to stay current with industry trends, enhance their practice management skills, and expand their professional networks. The symposium provides valuable insights and tools tailored to the unique challenges faced by smaller legal practices.
