The Society of Will Writers Annual Conference 2022, held on October 10th and 11th at The Hilton East Midlands Airport Hotel, marked the 25th iteration of this esteemed event. Organized by The Society of Will Writers, the conference brought together professionals from the will writing and estate planning sectors for two days of expert talks, engaging workshops, exhibitions, and entertainment.
The first day featured an annual update from SWW Director Anthony Belcher and a Professional Standards Board update from Antony Brinkman. The day's sessions focused on care and vulnerability, with presentations by Claudine Jackson, Adam Johnson, Tim Farmer, and Professor Keith Brown. The Office of the Public Guardian's Ruth Duffin and Stuart Moore also addressed attendees, providing valuable insights into their operations.
On the second day, workshops were led by Alex Horne, Simon Mattison, and Neil Denny, covering topics pertinent to estate planning professionals, including pre-nuptial agreements, branding, and retirement planning. Additionally, a breakfast meeting was introduced, offering further opportunities for learning and discussion.
The conference also provided ample networking opportunities, including a private dinner and bar on Monday night, featuring magic and live music with a dancefloor. This setting allowed attendees to connect with peers, industry leaders, and exhibitors, fostering professional relationships and collaborations.
