Annual IP & Social Justice CLE Seminar 2023
by Institute for Intellectual Property and Social Justice (IIPSJ)
The Annual IP & Social Justice CLE Seminar is a premier event organized by the Institute for Intellectual Property and Social Justice (IIPSJ). This seminar offers comprehensive updates in intellectual property law, featuring panels of federal judges and discussions on the intersection of IP and social justice. Each year, the program collaborates with leading IP judges, attorneys, and scholars to provide insightful sessions for attendees.
The 2023 seminar covered a range of pertinent topics, including the IP Law Year in Review, which provided updates on trademark, patent, and copyright developments. The Donald R. Dunner Judicial Panel featured esteemed judges discussing recent judicial perspectives. Additional sessions addressed the Unleashing American Innovation Act, highlights from the Innovator Diversity Pilots Conference, and discussions on fair use, trade secrets, and the rights of college athletes regarding name, image, and likeness.
The event also offered practical opportunities for networking, with breakout sessions that included discussions with counsel from prominent companies such as Meta, Under Armour, J.P. Morgan, 3M Company, Freddie Mac, Visa, and Pall Corporation. These sessions allowed attendees to engage with industry leaders and gain insights into current trends and challenges in the field.
This seminar is ideal for attorneys in private practice, in-house counsel, government agency representatives, public interest NGOs, members of the judiciary, and government officials. It provides a unique platform to explore the latest developments in IP law through a social justice lens, offering valuable perspectives and fostering professional growth.
