13th Annual LCLD Alumni Leadership Symposium

by Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD)

The 13th Annual LCLD Alumni Leadership Symposium, organized by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), took place on June 20-21, 2024, at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. This event was designed for attorneys who have completed the LCLD Fellows or Pathfinder Programs, offering a platform for educational sessions, career development opportunities, and networking events.

The symposium featured a range of sessions addressing key topics such as mental health, disability inclusion, and career development. Highlights included a plenary session titled "The Mental Game of Winners: How to Get Unstuck, Out of Your Head, and Thrive" by former professional athlete Charles Clark, and a keynote on "Disability Inclusion: How Allyship Enables All of Us to Thrive" by Tiffany Yu. Breakout sessions covered themes like inclusive excellence in corporate culture and building stamina in legal careers.

Attendees had the opportunity to participate in community service activities, such as assisting individuals with civil legal issues through the ABA Free Legal Answers program, co-sponsored by Nutter McClennen & Fish and MassMutual. The event also included networking opportunities like the "Drinks & Dialogue" small group sessions and an off-site reception at Kings Dining & Entertainment. Notable speakers included Jessica Lee, Chief Privacy & Security Partner at Loeb & Loeb LLP, who co-led a session on building stamina in legal careers.

The symposium was tailored for LCLD alumni seeking to enhance their leadership skills, expand their professional networks, and engage in meaningful discussions on diversity and inclusion within the legal profession.
