Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property Law Conference

by Harvard Law School

The Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property Law Conference is a half-day event hosted by Harvard Law School, bringing together leading members of the judiciary, global academic community, and private sector to address pressing issues at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and intellectual property (IP) law. The conference is organized by Harvard Law School, with key figures such as William W. Fisher III, the WilmerHale Professor of Intellectual Property Law, and William F. Lee, Eli Goldston Lecturer at Harvard Law, playing significant roles in its conception and organization.

The conference agenda includes sessions on the current capabilities and future trajectory of AI, the intersection of AI and IP law, global perspectives on AI and IP, and insights from the judiciary on trends in IP litigation. Notable sessions feature discussions on what AI can do today and where it is headed, the intersection of AI and intellectual property law, a global perspective on the future of AI and IP, and patent litigation in 2024: a view from the bench.

The event offers networking opportunities during the continental breakfast and luncheon, where attendees can engage with peers and speakers. A keynote address is delivered by Jonathan Zittrain, the George Bemis Professor of International Law at Harvard Law School, a globally recognized leader in the fields of ethics and the governance of artificial intelligence. The conference is held under the Chatham House Rule to encourage open and candid discussions.

This conference is ideal for legal professionals, academics, policymakers, and industry leaders interested in the evolving landscape of AI and its implications for intellectual property law. Attendees will gain valuable insights into current trends, challenges, and future directions in this rapidly developing field.
