The FSU Law and Holland & Knight Symposium on Artificial Intelligence 2024 was a collaborative event organized by the Institute for Law, Technology & Innovation at Florida State University's College of Law and the law firm Holland & Knight LLP. This half-day conference convened academics, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore the promises and challenges associated with artificial intelligence.

The symposium featured three panel discussions and a keynote address. The first panel provided an overview of AI's current capabilities and limitations. The second panel addressed legal and regulatory issues surrounding AI, including the applicability of existing laws and potential regulatory approaches. The final panel examined the broader implications of AI on business and society, discussing both optimistic and cautionary perspectives.

The event concluded with a keynote address by Anu Bradford, Henry L. Moses Professor of Law and International Organization at Columbia Law School. Bradford discussed the global battle among the United States, China, and the European Union to regulate technology, emphasizing the far-reaching implications for AI and the future of liberal democracy.
