National Association of Women Lawyers GC Institute 2024

by National Association of Women Lawyers

The National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL) is hosting its 2024 General Counsel Institute (GCI) from November 6 to 8 in New York City. This event is exclusively designed by and for in-house counsel to enhance their legal and leadership skills, providing a platform for frank, collegial discussions and fostering deep, long-lasting relationships among attendees.

The GCI will feature a range of sessions focusing on leadership development, legal trends, and strategies pertinent to in-house counsel. A highlight of the event is the fireside chat with Michele Coleman Mayes, former Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of the New York Public Library, who will share insights on leadership and the evolving landscape for women in law. This session is approved for 1 CLE credit hour by the Washington State Bar Association and the Illinois MCLE Board, with accreditation pending in New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

Attendees will have ample opportunities for networking, including a closing reception on November 8 to celebrate NAWL's 125th anniversary. This gathering will allow participants to reflect on the event's highlights and strengthen professional connections in a relaxed atmosphere.

The GCI is ideal for senior in-house counsel seeking to collaborate with peers and strengthen their leadership capabilities. Law firm attorneys not affiliated with a GCI sponsor can also attend by selecting the appropriate registration type. NAWL welcomes all attorneys and law students, recognizing and celebrating the value that a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences brings to the legal community.
