Special Lecture on Fostering Innovation, Production and Access to Pharmaceutical Products in Developing Countries

The DPIIT IPR Chair at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) is organizing a special lecture titled "Fostering Innovation, Production and Access to Pharmaceutical Products in Developing Countries." The lecture will be delivered by Prof. William W. Fisher, WilmerHale Professor of Intellectual Property Law at Harvard Law School, on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 6:30 pm at the Bangalore International Centre (BIC). This event is open to the public, with mandatory RSVP.

Prof. Fisher will address the critical challenge of ensuring access to affordable, high-quality pharmaceutical products in developing countries, particularly in the Global South. Drawing on historical insights, including responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, he will discuss potential initiatives to foster local pharmaceutical innovation and production without necessitating changes to existing international intellectual property obligations.
