26th Annual Berkeley-Stanford Advanced Patent Law Institute

by UC Berkeley Center for Law & Technology and Stanford Program in Law, Science and Technology

The 26th Annual Berkeley-Stanford Advanced Patent Law Institute (APLI) is a premier event co-organized by the UC Berkeley Center for Law & Technology and the Stanford Program in Law, Science and Technology. This conference brings together leading judges, academics, litigators, patent prosecutors, and senior intellectual property counsel from major corporations to provide an in-depth analysis of the latest developments in patent law and practice.

The two-day agenda features a comprehensive range of topics, including Mark Lemley's Annual Patent Law Update, trends in patent enforcement, hot topics in trade secrets, and discussions on standard-essential patents (SEPs) and fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory (FRAND) terms. Additionally, sessions cover post-grant strategies, injunctive relief from a global perspective, and the integration of AI tools in litigation and patent prosecution.

Attendees have the opportunity to engage in networking sessions, including a reception at the end of the first day. The event also features notable speakers such as Andrei Iancu, former Director of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, who participates in a fireside chat to discuss the current state of the U.S. patent system and its impact on innovation and global competitiveness.

This institute is ideal for patent attorneys, in-house counsel, and professionals involved in intellectual property law who seek to stay abreast of the evolving patent landscape and gain practical insights from industry leaders.
