Socio-Legal Studies Association Annual Conference 2025
The Socio-Legal Studies Association (SLSA) Annual Conference 2025 is a premier gathering for scholars and practitioners in the field of socio-legal studies, organized by the University of Liverpool Law School. Since its inception in 1990, the SLSA Annual Conference has served as a vital platform for disseminating knowledge and fostering professional networks within the socio-legal community.
The 2025 conference will feature over 30 thematic streams and six current topics, encompassing a wide array of subjects pertinent to socio-legal research. A highlight of the event is the plenary session titled "Liverpool and the Legacies of Hillsborough: Arts, Law, Communities and Accountability," which will explore the enduring impact of the Hillsborough Disaster and the multifaceted justice campaign it inspired.
Attendees can look forward to a comprehensive program that includes panel sessions, a dedicated postgraduate program, and a competitive poster competition. Social events such as the conference dinner and prize-giving ceremony at the iconic St George’s Hall will provide ample networking opportunities. The conference will also host a drinks reception on the opening evening, facilitating informal interactions among delegates.
This conference is ideal for academics, researchers, legal practitioners, and postgraduate students engaged in socio-legal studies. It offers a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research, participate in meaningful discussions, and build professional relationships within a vibrant and supportive community.
