The Sedona Conference Working Group 13 on Artificial Intelligence and the Law held its inaugural meeting on January 16-17, 2025, at The Camby Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona. Organized by The Sedona Conference, a nonpartisan, nonprofit research and educational institute dedicated to advancing law and policy, this event marked the launch of a new initiative focused on the intersection of AI and legal practice.
The meeting featured sessions addressing foundational topics such as defining "AI" in the legal context, exploring regulatory frameworks for AI, and examining real-life AI use cases highlighting both benefits and challenges.
