The 18th Annual Estate Planning and Community Property Law Journal CLE & Expo is a premier event organized by the Texas Tech University School of Law. Scheduled for Friday, February 20, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the conference will be held at the Mark & Becky Lanier Professional Development Center in Lubbock, Texas. A reception is planned for the evening prior, on Thursday, February 19, from 5:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Overton Hotel's Horizon Ballroom.

The conference will cover a range of pertinent topics in estate planning and community property law. Sessions include a legislative update by Meredith McIver, discussions on the rights of a killer in Texas to share in the victim's estate by Gus Tamborello, and insights into capacity, aging, and ethics by Debbie Tedford. Additional presentations will address tax updates, perspectives from the bench, and strategies to reduce litigation and exploitation.

Attendees will have opportunities to network during the reception and breaks. Notable speakers such as Judge Sarah Duff and Professor Gerry Beyer will share their expertise, providing valuable insights into current legal issues and case law updates.
