The 27th Judicial Conference of the Eighth Judicial District is scheduled for April 23-24, 2026, in Cleveland, Ohio. The conference will feature a keynote address by Jeff Nye, Chief of the Criminal Law Division at the Idaho Attorney General’s Office, who will provide insights into the Idaho student murders case, focusing on the investigative genetic genealogy aspects that linked Bryan Kohberger to the crime scene. Additional sessions will cover topics such as electronic medical records, artificial intelligence in the legal field, legal competency issues, and ethical strategies for dealing with unprofessional opposing counsel. Attendees will also be treated to a theatrical production exploring the separation of powers.
