2nd New Delhi International Rule of Law Convention

The 2nd New Delhi International Rule of Law Convention, held on 30 August 2025 at the Stein Auditorium in the India Habitat Centre, was organized by The Bar Association of India. This convention focused on the theme "Global Economic Governance and Principles of Rule of Law," with a particular emphasis on economic governance and cross-border terrorism.

A key session titled "Anti Money Laundering Regulations and FATF Framework: Issues of Over-compliance and Financial Exclusion in Global South" addressed critical issues affecting regions such as Asia, China, Africa, and Latin America. The session was chaired by Mr. C.S. Vaidyanathan, Vice President of The Bar Association of India, and featured prominent speakers including Mr. Prashant Kumar, President of The Bar Association of India; Ms. Lisa Sam Hui Min, President of the Law Society of Singapore; Mr. Roden M.L. Tong, President of the Law Society of Hong Kong; Ms. Kateryna Boguslavska, Project Manager at the Basel Institute of Governance in Switzerland; and Mr. Divino Sabino, President of the Bar Association of Seychelles.

The convention provided attendees with valuable networking opportunities, allowing legal professionals from various jurisdictions to engage in discussions on pressing global issues. The presence of notable speakers and experts in the field offered insights into the challenges and solutions related to anti-money laundering regulations and financial inclusion in the Global South.

Legal practitioners, policymakers, and scholars with an interest in economic governance, anti-money laundering regulations, and the rule of law were encouraged to attend. The event aimed to foster a deeper understanding of these complex issues and promote collaborative efforts to address them effectively.
