The University of Illinois Chicago's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is hosting a lecture titled "An ER for the Rule of Law: Lawyering in an Era of Democratic Erosion" as part of the Bruno and Sallie Pasquinelli Constitutional Conversations Lecture Series. The event features Sonia Mittal, Ph.D., a clinical lecturer in law and associate research scholar at Yale Law School.
Dr. Mittal will discuss the challenges and responsibilities of legal professionals in maintaining the rule of law during times of democratic decline. The lecture will explore strategic litigation, advocacy, and public awareness initiatives aimed at upholding constitutional principles.

Sonia Mittal is a clinical lecturer in law and associate research scholar in law at Yale Law School, where she teaches the Peter Gruber Rule of Law Clinic. She previously served as senior counsel and assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, overseeing major Department of Justice investigations, and as a trial attorney in the antitrust division's national criminal enforcement section.
