2026 Appellate Specialists Conference

The 2026 Appellate Specialists Conference is an annual three-day event organized by the Prosecuting Attorneys Coordinating Council (PACC) in cooperation with the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan (PAAM). This conference is specifically designed for Assistant Prosecutors who dedicate a significant portion of their practice to appellate work.

The conference will feature Tim Baughman's Annual Criminal Law Update, providing attendees with the latest developments and insights in criminal law. Additional sessions will cover a range of topics pertinent to appellate practice, ensuring participants are well-versed in current legal trends and strategies.

Scheduled to commence on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 12:00 PM with registration and a lunch buffet, the event will be held at the Crystal Mountain Resort in Thompsonville, Michigan. The first conference session is set to begin at 1:00 PM. Attendees residing or working more than 50 miles away will receive single-occupancy lodging for two nights at the resort, covering Monday and Tuesday evenings. Upon check-in, attendees are required to present a credit card for incidental charges. Additional adults lodging in the room will incur a charge of $20 per person, per night, payable at check-out. Any extra nights, incidentals, or room upgrades will be the responsibility of the attendee. Special lodging requests can be directed to Christina Duckworth, and efforts will be made to accommodate these based on availability.
