The American Society of International Law (ASIL) will host its 120th Annual Meeting from April 22 to 25, 2026, at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. This prestigious event brings together international law professionals, scholars, and policymakers to discuss and advance the field of international law.
The 2026 meeting's theme, "Advancing and Defending The Rule of Law," will explore critical issues such as the challenges to international norms, the impact of authoritarianism on legal frameworks, and the role of international institutions in upholding justice. Sessions will be organized into six substantive tracks: International Human Rights, Humanitarian Law, and Criminal Justice; Transnational Litigation, Arbitration, and Dispute Resolution; International Trade, Investment, and Finance; International Organizations, Global Governance, Global Health, and Technology; International Peace and Security, Foreign Relations, and Use of Force; and Environment, Oceans and Seas, Space, and Sustainable Development.
Attendees can look forward to keynote addresses by leading figures in international law, substantive panel discussions, networking and social events, interest group meetings, and access to leading publishers of international law materials. Optional Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits and luncheons will also be available.
This meeting is ideal for international and domestic lawyers, policymakers, academics, and experts across various sectors who are interested in the contemporary challenges and developments in international law.
