The California Appellate Defense Counsel (CADC) hosted its 32nd Annual Conference & Seminar on March 20 and 21, 2026, at the South San Francisco Conference Center. This event brought together appellate defense attorneys from across California to discuss developments in appellate law and practice.
The conference featured sessions on the practical and ethical use of AI in appellate practice, tips for creating a sustainable and satisfying appellate practice, and new issues in Racial Justice Act litigation. Notably, Associate Justice Kelli M. Evans of the Supreme Court of California delivered a keynote address.
Attendees had opportunities to network during events such as the Friday evening reception and dinner, as well as the Saturday lunch. The conference also offered up to 8.25 hours of general MCLE, appellate specialization, and criminal specialization credits, including 1.5 hours of special Technology MCLE and 1 hour of special elimination of bias MCLE.
This conference was particularly beneficial for appellate defense attorneys seeking to enhance their practice, stay informed on current issues, and fulfill continuing legal education requirements.
