The EPIC Conference 2026, organized by the Emory Public Interest Committee (EPIC) at Emory University School of Law, is a free, community-focused event dedicated to exploring critical issues in public service law. Scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Emory Law's Tull Auditorium in Atlanta, Georgia, the conference aims to address the evolving landscape of immigration enforcement and its impact on due process rights.
The conference will feature a series of sessions covering topics such as current immigration enforcement policies, the legal standards governing stops and detentions, conditions within detention centers, and the functioning of the immigration court system. Attendees will also engage in discussions on trauma-informed lawyering, grassroots community building, and avenues for law student involvement in advocacy and reform efforts.
Lunch will be provided, and the event offers 4.5 Georgia general CLE credits, pending approval. A remote attendance option is available; however, CLE credits are not offered for virtual participation. Emory Law students should note that remote attendance does not fulfill the EPIC Grant attendance requirement.
This conference is ideal for legal professionals, students, and community members interested in public service law, particularly those focused on immigration issues and due process rights. It provides an opportunity to gain practical skills, engage with experts, and contribute to ongoing discussions and reforms in the field.
