The 2026 Family Law Policy & Practice Summit is a two-day conference organized by the California Lawyers Association's Family Law Executive Committee (FLEXCOM). Scheduled for August 28–29, 2026, at the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel in Sacramento, California, this inaugural event aims to enhance California's family law practice through legislative insight, policy engagement, multidisciplinary education, and statewide networking.
The summit's agenda includes a range of sessions covering key topics such as effective legislative engagement for family law attorneys, policy workshops on areas like adoption, domestic abuse, juvenile dependency, financial issues, child custody, evidence and procedure, technology and innovation, and more. Notable sessions include "Advocacy Beyond Litigation," "Legislative Labs," and "Bench–Bar Policy Roundtable."
Attendees can look forward to networking opportunities, including a welcome reception and awards ceremony on the first evening, as well as a dine-around event on the second evening. The conference also offers up to 10.0 hours of MCLE, including Legal Specialization in Family Law credit.
