The International Conferences on Regional Politics (ICRP): Middle East is an inaugural event organized by the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul University's Faculty of Economics. Scheduled for March 26–28, 2026, at Istanbul University, the conference aims to provide a platform for scholars and practitioners to discuss and analyze critical issues shaping the Middle East region.

The conference will cover a wide array of topics, including state–society relations, governance models, constitutional developments, demographic trends, security challenges, regional power dynamics, international policies, economic challenges, energy transitions, conflict resolution, cultural studies, historical analyses, migration issues, human rights, women's studies, the role of international organizations, and international law. These themes are designed to foster comprehensive discussions on the multifaceted aspects of Middle Eastern politics and society.

Participants will have opportunities for networking, engaging in panel discussions, and attending sessions led by notable speakers. Accepted papers will be considered for publication in reputable journals indexed in Scopus, WoS-ESCI, and TRDizin, such as Siyasal: Journal of Political Sciences, Istanbul Journal of Economics, Public and Private International Law Bulletin, Recent Period Turkish Studies, and the Journal of Culture, Economy and Society. The official languages of the conference are English, Turkish, and Arabic.

Prof. Dr. Saeed Mubarak Al-Muharrami

Professor at Sultan Qaboos University

Prof. Dr. Saeed Mubarak Al-Muharrami is a full professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at Sultan Qaboos University, specializing in finance, banking, and monetary economics. He has authored seven books and numerous research papers, receiving multiple awards for his contributions to research and teaching.

Tarik M. Yousef

Senior Fellow at Middle East Council on Global Affairs

Tarik M. Yousef is a senior fellow at the Middle East Council on Global Affairs, with a career spanning academia and think tanks, including positions at Georgetown University and the Brookings Institution. He has contributed over 75 articles and co-edited several volumes on Middle Eastern politics and economics.
