The Lawyer Leadership Summit 2026 is a five-day immersive retreat designed for senior legal professionals, including general counsel, law firm partners, judges, and legal scholars. Hosted by the Legal Mentor Network and Lead with Compassion, the event will take place from June 20 to June 24, 2026, in Ischia, Italy. The summit aims to cultivate compassionate leadership within the legal profession by enhancing participants' abilities to lead themselves, others, and mentor the next generation.
The curriculum integrates perspectives from law, business, philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, and theology. Key topics include ancient Greek philosophers' views on leadership practices, applying motivational psychology to team engagement, leveraging the neuroscience of compassion for effective leadership, problem-solving inspired by ancient Chinese wisdom, leading through change with empathy, the theology and practice of peace, storytelling for impact, and mentoring with conviction and compassion.
Participants will benefit from daily leadership training sessions led by esteemed faculty, including Scott Westfahl, Director of Harvard Law School Executive Education; Michael Puett, Chair of the Committee on the Study of Religion at Harvard University; David Hempton, former Dean of Harvard Divinity School; Brian Potts, University of Wisconsin-Madison Professor and Founder of The Legal Mentor Network; and Elizabeth Pyjov, Loyola Chicago Law School and Business School Professor. The event also offers networking opportunities, curated excursions around the island, and cultural immersion experiences.
The summit is tailored for senior in-house counsel, law firm partners, judges, legal tech founders, legal administrative leaders, and bar association leaders. Attendees will gain new frameworks for ethical leadership, deepen professional relationships, and acquire practical tools for navigating complex decisions in law and business.
