The Center for Disability & Elder Law (CDEL) is hosting the 2026 'Light Up the Loop' Winter Awards Benefit on February 26th at Baker McKenzie's Chicago office. This annual event celebrates CDEL's achievements and honors individuals and organizations that have significantly contributed to the legal community.
The benefit will recognize Judge Timothy C. Evans with the Impact Award for his reforms in the Cook County legal system, including the creation of the Elder Law and Miscellaneous Remedies Division. Milberg will receive the Partner of the Year Award for its support of CDEL, and Tom Broderick will be honored as Volunteer of the Year for his dedicated service at CDEL's help desks and workshops.
Attendees can enjoy appetizers, cocktails, and networking opportunities with CDEL staff, board members, dignitaries, and supporters in Baker McKenzie's 50th-floor conference center, offering panoramic views of the city and lake. The event is chaired by Todd Patterson of United Airlines, with honorary chairs David Malliband of Baker McKenzie and Judge Nichole C. Patton of the Chicago Bar Association.
Legal professionals, advocates for disability and elder rights, and community members are encouraged to attend to support CDEL's mission and connect with like-minded individuals dedicated to justice and equity.
