2026 Military Law and Veterans' Affairs Symposium

by New Jersey State Bar Association

The 2026 Military Law and Veterans' Affairs Symposium is an annual seminar organized by the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA). This event is tailored for active-duty military personnel, veterans, attorneys representing them, and individuals interested in the legal issues affecting these communities. The symposium is scheduled for April 18, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick.

This year's theme, "From Service to Enterprise: Supporting Veteran-Led Innovation," will feature a keynote presentation by Colonel Jeff Cantor, US Army (Ret.). The program includes a Veterans' Benefits Accreditation Breakout Session, which qualifies attendees for Veterans' Administration accreditation in compliance with 38 C.F.R. 14.629(b). This session satisfies VA CLE requirements for initial accreditation and ongoing biannual recertification, making it suitable for both new and experienced practitioners.

The symposium offers up to 7.3 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits, including 7.3 NJ General credits, 7.0 NY Professional Practice Non-Transitional credits, and 6.0 PA Substantive credits. Notably, no PACLE fee is required for this program; however, a valid PA Bar ID number must be provided to earn PA CLE credits.

This free program provides a valuable opportunity for legal professionals to enhance their understanding of military and veterans' affairs law, network with peers, and fulfill CLE requirements. Attendees will gain insights into supporting veteran-led initiatives and staying informed about the latest developments in this specialized area of law.
