The New York City Bar Association's 2026 Employment Law Conference is a comprehensive, full-day program designed to explore current trends, developments, and cutting-edge topics in employment law. Organized by the New York City Bar Association, this event brings together esteemed in-house counsel and top practitioners from both the plaintiffs’ and defense bar to discuss pressing labor and employment law matters.
The conference features panel discussions operating in two tracks, covering topics such as the new gig economy, the impact of current immigration policy on employment law, strategic selection of claim venues, hot topics in employment mediation, best practices for employee policies and handbooks, non-competes and restrictive covenants, litigation updates from the 2nd Circuit and Supreme Court, and insights from in-house counsel. Additionally, two plenary sessions will address legal developments concerning diversity and discrimination policies, and the ethical use of artificial intelligence in employment law.
Attendees will have the opportunity to network during a lunch session and a post-event reception. Notable speakers include Mark Goldberg, who will lead the panel on preventing employment issues through best practices for employee policies and handbooks, and Howard Wexler, who will present on the ethical use of AI in employment law. This conference is ideal for junior and senior employment lawyers, as well as in-house counsel handling labor and employment matters, providing valuable insights and practical strategies to navigate the rapidly changing legal and regulatory environment.
