The 2026 UNCF Leaders' Breakfast – DMV is a fundraising event hosted by UNCF’s DMV Leadership Council. It brings together leaders from business, civic, academic, faith-based, and non-profit sectors within the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area to discuss the importance of national security and encourage students, particularly from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), to consider careers in national security and foreign policy.
The event features a fireside chat with Kemba Walden, President of the Paladin Global Institute and former acting United States National Cyber Director. Walden, a respected figure in cybersecurity, will share insights on international cybersecurity policies and strategies to protect critical infrastructure and enhance cyberspace security. The discussion will be moderated by Charles Carithers, Principal at Cornerstone Government Affairs.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with top African American professionals in U.S. national security, fostering networking and mentorship opportunities. The event aims to inspire students to pursue careers in national security and foreign policy, highlighting the vital role of diversity in these fields.
This breakfast is ideal for students, educators, and professionals interested in national security, cybersecurity, and foreign policy. It offers a platform to connect with industry leaders, gain valuable insights, and explore career opportunities in these critical sectors.
