Director for Markets and Cases II: IT, Communication and Media at DG Comp, European Commission
Carlota Reyners is a Director in the Directorate General for Competition since August 1, 2023. She is in charge of the enforcement of antitrust, merger, and state aid rules in the field of information technology, communications, and media. In 2024, she was detached for two months to the Cabinet of the President of the Commission as acting Digital Adviser. She previously worked for eight years in DG CONNECT, leading legislative projects such as the review of the regulatory framework for telecoms resulting in the 2018 European Electronic Communications Code and the 2030 Digital Decade Policy Programme. She holds a law degree from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a Master in European law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
