William LaFontaine is a recognized leader in technology licensing, partnerships, and intellectual property. He retired from IBM as General Manager of Intellectual Property, where he led efforts to accelerate market introduction of new technologies, including AI, Quantum Computing, and Semiconductors. William is currently a Senior Advisor to Columbia Technology Ventures and an Executive in Residence. He holds a D. Phil. in International Relations from the University of Oxford and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
