The Second Annual ASU-Arkfeld eDiscovery and Digital Evidence Conference, held from March 13 to 15, 2013, at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, was a premier event focusing on the evolving challenges and solutions in electronic discovery and digital evidence. Organized by the College's Center for Law, Science & Innovation in collaboration with Michael Arkfeld, Director of the ASU-Arkfeld eDiscovery Program, the conference aimed to enhance the understanding and competencies of legal professionals in managing electronic information in litigation.

The conference covered a wide array of critical topics, including legal hold analysis, computer-assisted search, predictive coding, project management, competency, and proportionality. These sessions provided attendees with practical insights into the latest methodologies and best practices for handling electronically stored information (ESI) effectively and ethically.

Notable speakers included U.S. Magistrate Judges John Facciola from the District of Columbia and Craig Shaffer from the District of Colorado, both renowned for their expertise in eDiscovery. Judge Facciola's keynote address, "Halls of Justice: Only Rich and Poor Need Apply," delved into strategies for maximizing the value and minimizing the costs associated with eDiscovery, emphasizing the importance of making these tools accessible to all legal practitioners. Judge Shaffer's lecture, "Where, oh where, have the trials gone?" explored the evolving landscape of trials in the digital age. The event also featured over 30 leading eDiscovery experts, offering attendees unparalleled opportunities for learning and professional networking.
