Hong Kong FinTech Week 2024

Hong Kong FinTech Week 2024, themed "Illuminating New Pathways in Fintech," was held from October 28 to November 1, 2024, at the AsiaWorld-Expo and various locations across Hong Kong. Organized by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau and Invest Hong Kong, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Securities and Futures Commission, and the Insurance Authority, this ninth edition attracted over 37,000 visitors from more than 100 economies, featuring over 800 distinguished speakers and 700 sponsors and exhibitors.

The event covered a wide array of topics, including asset tokenization, central bank digital currencies, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in financial services. Key sessions highlighted initiatives like Project Ensemble, aimed at accelerating the development of the tokenization market in Hong Kong, and discussions on enhancing banks' monitoring of complex money laundering cases through AI.

Attendees had the opportunity to engage in networking sessions, explore an extensive expo hall showcasing cutting-edge fintech solutions, and hear from notable speakers such as Mr. Eddie Yue, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, who emphasized the importance of embracing the digital frontier to drive financial innovation.
