The Irish Rule of Law International (IRLI) hosted its 2024 Commercial Law Conference on Thursday, 24th October, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Distillery Building in Dublin. Sponsored by Matheson LLP, the conference aimed to provide a platform for solicitors and barristers to share knowledge and expertise in commercial law, as well as to facilitate networking opportunities within the legal community.
The theme for this year's conference was "Recent Commercial Litigation Updates." The event featured a keynote address by Attorney General Rossa Fanning, followed by a panel discussion facilitated by Judge Liam Kennedy. Panelists included David Whelan SC, Joe Jeffers SC, Úna Nesdale BL, Úna Tighe SC, Ruadhán Kenny (Partner at Matheson), and Kate Harnett (Of Counsel at A&L Goodbody).
The conference included discussions on several pertinent papers:

Following the formal sessions, attendees had the opportunity to network over wine and canapés, fostering professional connections and discussions. The event was accredited for 2 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours, contributing to the ongoing education requirements for legal professionals.
