CLE Seminar: Privacy Litigation Developments and Trends
The Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA) Privacy and Data Security Committee is organizing a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar titled "Privacy Litigation Developments and Trends." This virtual event is scheduled for Thursday, May 1, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and will be conducted via the Zoom platform.
The seminar will feature two main sessions. The first session, "Navigating the Fast-Growing Privacy Litigation Landscape," will address the increasing volume and complexity of data privacy lawsuits, including those related to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), website tracking technologies, and biometrics. The second session, "Challenging Privacy Laws," will explore recent legal challenges to both state and federal privacy frameworks.
The event will commence with welcome remarks by Tyler Bridegan, Director of Privacy and Tech Enforcement at the Texas Attorney General’s Office. Notable speakers include Kat Scott, Partner at Wiley Rein LLP; Müge Fazlioglu, Ph.D., Principal Researcher at the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP); Cindy Gierhart, Partner at Holland & Knight; and Yaron Dori, Partner at Covington & Burling LLP.
