The "Navigating the EU AI Act" seminar is a comprehensive training session designed to provide participants with a foundational understanding of the European Union's Artificial Intelligence Act. Organized by KU Leuven's Centre for IT & IP Law (CiTiP), the Knowledge Centre Data & Society, and PUC - KU Leuven Continue, this event aims to equip AI providers, deployers, legal professionals, compliance officers, and tech experts with the necessary knowledge to navigate the new legal obligations introduced by the Act.

The seminar covers key topics including the basics of the AI Act, its interaction with technical standards, liability issues, fundamental rights considerations, and the concept of regulatory sandboxes. Sessions are led by esteemed experts such as Sultan Erdogan and Shannen Verlee, who will introduce the scope and requirements of the AI Act; Koen Vranckaert, discussing compliance through harmonized technical standards; Jan De Bruyne, addressing liability challenges posed by AI; and Andrea Palumbo, focusing on the protection of fundamental rights within the AI framework.

Scheduled for March 5, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, the seminar will be held at KU Leuven's Bruges campus, located at Spoorwegstraat 12, 8200 Brugge. The event is conducted in English and spans eight hours, offering ample opportunities for networking and in-depth discussions with peers and experts in the field.
