Dr. Federica Paddeu

Associate Professor and Derek Bowett Fellow in Law at Queens' College, Cambridge

Dr. Federica Paddeu is a general international lawyer with main research interests in the law of State responsibility, particularly the legal theory and practice of exceptions, and the law on the use of force. She has published in leading international law journals and authored a monograph titled 'Justification and Excuse in International Law: Concept and Theory of General Defences.' She co-edited a volume on 'Exceptions in International Law' and is a member of the Academic Research Panel of Blackstone Chambers and BIICL's Public International Law Advisory Board.
